As I complete my time of carrying you for nine months,

I feel so many emotions all at once.

I’m soon going to be holding you in my arms,

At last being able to see your little feet and tiny palms.

I hope you have led a comfortable life within me

But, it is now time to step out into the world to see.

I hope I can protect you well providing you all the amenities

But more so I wish to teach you life’s harsh realities.

As I pray for your eternal happiness,

I will not always wish your life to be a bed of roses.

You ought to fall at several points in life’s journey as you make your own mistakes,

But don’t ever let losing slow down your pace.

You should know that the dark clouds won’t last much longer

So be patient, wait for the sun, and you will emerge much stronger.

So go ahead my child and dream big dreams,

Choose your own path from life’s different streams.

Your father and I wish you success in all that you do.

But no matter where you go, keep my innocent child alive within you.
